Ate here 20 years to as a college student, came back for homecoming and the place was still jumping! Jerk chicken was super spicy, like too spicy to eat, which was disappointing because I love spicy food and love their jerk drummettes in particular. I'll give it another try next time I'm in town. Maybe the curry chicken instead.

Okay, I am not usually a fan of Jamaican rice. However Negril's rice was so good. I ordered the jerk chicken entree and I ordered a side of sweet plantains. I thoroughly enjoyed my plate. I was even able to save some for lunch the next day. The jerk chicken was spicy, but not overly spicy where you're unable to enjoy the actual meal. I asked for oxtail gravy over my rice and it was so good. The sweet plantains were just right and there was a lot for just a side order. I maybe got about 7 pieces. The service was quick it was not much of a wait. On another occasion, I ordered a veggie and chicken patty and both were very good. The chicken patty is sort of like a curry chicken and it's spicy. The veggie patty has a little curry or special sauce I believe but it was so good.

If the Caribbean had a culinary superhero, Negril, The Jamaican Eatery in Washington, DC, would be its secret headquarters. I recently embarked on a taste bud adventure at this culinary gem, and let me tell you, it was like a flavor explosion in all the right ways! First, let's talk about those beef patties - like little pockets of joy filled with savory goodness. The coco bread? Soft, pillowy, and just the right amount of coconutty goodness. And the fried plantains? Crispy on the outside, sweet and tender on the inside - like bites of sunshine on a plate. Now, let's not forget about the star of the show - the rum cake. Oh, sweet rum cake, how do I love thee? Let me count the moist, rum-soaked layers of deliciousness! Each bite was a journey to the Caribbean, with hints of warmth and spice that left me craving more. In conclusion, Negril The Jamaican Eatery is a culinary treasure trove that will transport your taste buds to the sunny shores of Jamaica with every bite. So, if you're in the mood for a foodie adventure that will leave you craving more, do yourself a favor and visit them. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

Very short to the point. Love love love Negril. I' frequent the establishment by Howard University always purchasing the curry or jerk dinner. First time ordering them by DoorDash. So I ordered small; jerk sandwich on cocoa bread. I will forever make this my quick meal. The sauce was plenty, I don't care for dry food, the bread was the perfect amount of sweet. My question is..... why yall ain't tell me?

Stopped by Negril after a very very long day touring Howard University. The location is genius. It services the Howard staff and students well as well as the Howard Univ. hospital staff. I ordered the jerk chicken lunch special with a side of plantains. I would say this place did not disappoint. The food was very very plentiful and had so much depth and flavor. I finished off my lunch with a Rum cake. OMG that Rum cake was so moist and delicious. Negril is a institution and a must stop for anyone checking out Howard University campus.

The food at @negrileats is phenomenal! I am obsessed with the Beef Patties and they have it available with veggie and chicken! The chicken is so plump and falls right off the bone! Everything is so flavorful and the jerk sauce is so tasty! A must try! @negrileats Silver Spring, Laurel, Mitchellville, and D.C. $
